New Build
What to consider
Generally the waterproofing specification will depend on the use of the building and any use of the roof area, such as terraces, balconies, roof gardens or car parks. Liquid Applied Waterproofing Systems can be used for warm roof, inverted roofs and coating decks directly. With new build projects the specification will preferably be written before any building work commences, therefore any requirements for the type and quality of the roof deck should be discussed with the system supplier. Guidance Note 2 gives and in depth guidance on typical substrates.
Drawings
Some typical detail drawings showing the general arrangements for the application of liquid applied waterproofing systems are available to download in the downloads quicklink at the top of this page. Project specific details should be provided by the chosen LRWA manufacturer member.
