Our Roofing sales team has an exciting open position for an Area Technical Manager Sika Liquid Plastics. This is a Field based role covering the South East Counties (including – Norfolk, Ipswich, Cambridge, Peterborough, Lincoln, Hampshire, Hertfordshire). Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager for the liquid applied membrane sector of our roofing industry, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to build and execute a fast growth and high innovation strategy. Sika Liquid Plastics is renowned throughout the world for providing high quality long lasting liquid roofing solutions. Our waterproof membranes are suitable for most types of roof design in new build and refurbishment applications, on steel, timber, and concrete structures, and for warm, cold and inverted roofs. The possibility to work cross target market to grow the business will be pivotal in our future success. In the UK, Sika have offices in Welwyn Garden City, Preston, and Leeds that you will visit from time to time for training, meetings, and customer events.
Sika manufacture and develop a range of quality, industrial and commercial roofing membranes that are suitable for a wide range of applications using only ingredients of the best quality.

Our Sales team learn about specific requirements customers have in terms of their requirements and provide help and guidance to contractors using Sika products and are fully knowledgeable in the choice and efficiency offered by the Sika-Liquid Roofing range, whilst continuing to provide ongoing project support and guidance.
They also
• Promote and sell Sika Liquid Plastics Roofing products within their given geographic territory for the roofing sector
• Achieve pre-agreed sales targets by maintain and growing customer base, promoting the Liquid Plastics QA Contractor Programme to maximise sales opportunities
• Support further market penetration via new product technology and selling of current Sika technologies
• Protect current market share and generate new business
• Build and develop strong relationships to ensure high performance and achievement of sales targets for Roofing products by winning specifications, growing the business and maximising customer relations
• Undertake roof surveys adhering to Health & Safety protocol, providing thorough reports, specifications, drawings to provide the best solution possible
• Lead or participate in a variety of activities to educate around and promote existing and new products to target audiences and maintain and develop relationships with the key decision makers within the Roofing markets
• Use full functionality of salesforce.com to plan and manage relationships with customers, contractors, and colleagues
• Support other areas of the business and collaborate if they identify related opportunities through their contacts and customers
• Keep up-to-date with the competition and your own professional and personal development

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who:
• Has experience of specification sales ideally within the roofing or construction markets and current technologies
• Proven record in and understanding of construction and specification related sales
• Recognises interpersonal dynamics and their effect on negotiations
• Demonstrates technical acumen
• Can develop a strategic plan and interpret financial data

We are currently recruiting for a Business Development / Key Account Manager to support the growth of our systems in the UK.

About the role:
You will be responsible for successfully targeting new clients, building existing relationships and bringing in live project leads.

You will contribute to the successful achievement of sales objectives, developing sales strategies to support the region in its overall business goals.

You will be responsible for developing a focused number of key customer accounts and ensuring long term client and customer relationships.

You will also be responsible for negotiating with key account customers and monitoring market trends.

  • Focus on developing specification led business opportunities by prospecting new business and leveraging existing client relationships.
  • Follow up leads for architects, clients and main contractors.
  • Working closely with, you will liaise with the management team on business needs, preparing and agreeing business strategies, projections, and provide monthly reports to management meetings, detailing progress with key clients.

The Ideal Person:

  • You will be a motivated professional, with a willingness to develop sales strategies.
  • You will have the ability to develop strong working relationships with main contractors, clients and architects within the industry.
  • A high level of persuasive negotiations skills, and excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the building envelope and have a successful track record in sales.
  • A stable employment history with at least five years’ experience in a sales position within a relevant market sector, preferably in roofing or the external building envelope environment.

We are currently looking for an experienced technical sales representative for the South West region, mainly focused on the M4 / M3 corridors, to join our UK team.

Your key areas of responsibility will be to maintain relationships and develop product sales with existing and new customers.

Drive the specification of Kemper System products with architects, building owners, surveyors, facilities managers, developers and contractors in the public and private sector.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum 5 years field-based experience of the UK commercial flat roofing market in a similar role.
• A good technical understanding of roofing, but willing and eager to learn new products and systems.
• Self-motivated and hands-on, but able to work closely with an office and field-based support team.
• Must have the ability to journey plan effectively and be willing to travel within the territory and beyond when necessary.
• Computer literate. MS Office including Outlook, Excel and Word. Knowledge of CRM systems would be an advantage.
• Numerate and Literate. Must have good written and verbal English language skills. Able to communicate well at all levels. A pleasant, optimistic and helpful personality with good rapport building and relationship skills are essential.
