We are pleased to announce that the LRWA Charity Dragon Boat Regatta will be returning for a second year, taking place at the Crowne Plaza, Marlow on Thursday 14th May 2020.
Open to everyone in the roofing and waterproofing industry, in 2019 the event attracted 110 people, including contractors and manufacturers from across the UK. This year we hope that the event will be even bigger and better!
The teams battle it out on the hotel’s lake in 30ft dragon boats, each comprising of 10 paddlers and one drummer. Their challenge is to race 180m in a series of heats with the four fastest going through to a semi-final. The top two teams go head to head in a nail-biting final race.

LRWA Chosen Charity 2019/2020
This is the third year the LRWA has chosen to donate to a dedicated charity. We recognise we are in a privileged position in the UK, and as a sector are experiencing and enjoying continued growth and prosperity, so it’s only right to give something back to a worthy cause. No matter how big or small the donation, it could make a difference to people in a less privileged position.
This year, we have chosen the mental health charity, Mates In Mind. This fantastic charity addresses the stigma of poor mental health within the construction sector, by promoting positive wellbeing across workplaces in the UK. It provides a range of tools, support and help for employers in our sector.
A recent survey conducted by UK Construction Week, with support from Mates in Mind charity, has found that six out of 10 workers in construction have suffered mental ill-health because of their work.
