The Challenge
The 15-storey Bittoms MSCP in Kingston upon Thames town centre was refurbished with a total of 18,000 m² of internal deck coating to lightly brush finished concrete which had never previously been coated.
Rarely for the UK, the car park had a “wrinkly tin” roof so there were no external decks. The main criteria were protection of the concrete surface against ingress of water-borne contaminants (i.e. road de-icing salts trafficked in off the road by vehicles), aesthetic upgrade of the car park, and fast track installation to minimise downtime in this busy car park.

The Solution
The TREMCO Rapid Cure MMA internal deck system was selected following its proven track record on projects such as the award-winning MSCP 3 and MSCP 1 at Gatwick Airport South Terminal.
The lower 4 levels were carried out first and handed back to the client as they were completed after 2 weeks. The whole car park was completed in a 6-week contract period.
