Sika Roofing (Commercial Roofing Team) has 2 exciting opportunities for Business Development Managers to join the team. This role is supporting Sika’s move in the market for all our BDM’s to sell the range of technical roofing solutions available within the Sika portfolio to the Commercial sector. This role offers fantastic potential to build and execute a fast growth and high innovation strategy across the Roofing Technical Ranges in Single-Ply; providing unparalleled products, support and solutions for covering the UK’s roofs.
These are field-based roles covering the North and South of England. Reporting directly to our Regional Sales Manager for Commercial Roofing. Sika Roofing offers a full roofing service, solution and offers for the new build market. Our dedicated Business Development Managers promote and sell Sika Roofing products within their designated territory to the Commercial sector. The possibility to work cross target market to grow the business will be pivotal in our future success. Our Sales team learn about specific requirements customers have and provide help and assistance to contractors using Sika products. They are fully knowledgeable in the choice and efficiency offered by the Sika Roofing concept, whilst continuing to provide ongoing project support and guidance. Sika manufacture and develop a range of quality, industrial and commercial roofing membranes that are suitable for a wide range of applications using only ingredients of the best quality. In the UK, Sika have offices in Welwyn Garden City, Preston, and Leeds that you will visit from time to time for training, meetings, and customer events.
ACTIVITIES
Promote and sell Sika Roofing products within their given geographic territory for the roof commercial sector
Achieve pre-agreed sales targets by maintain and growing customer base
Support further market penetration via new product technology and selling of current Sika technologies
Protect current market share and generate new business
Build and develop strong relationships to ensure high performance and achievement of sales targets for Roofing products by winning, growing the business and maximising customer relations
Create opportunities for Sika in the commercial market by focusing on new build clients to improve company profitability and sustain the Sika brands as a market leader utilising the Roofing offers available.
Lead or participate in a variety of activities to educate around and promote existing and new products to target audiences and maintain and develop relationships with the key decision makers within the Roofing markets
Use full functionality of salesforce.com to plan and manage relationships with customers, contractors, and colleagues
Support other areas of the business and collaborate if they identify related opportunities through their contacts and customers
Keep up-to-date with the competition and own professional and personal development
WORKING HOURS Field-based, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who:

Has experience of specification sales market ideally within the roofing or construction markets and current technologies
Proven record in and understanding of construction and specification related sales
Recognises interpersonal dynamics and their effect on negotiations
Demonstrates technical acumen
Can develop a strategic plan and interpret financial data
Combines selling skills with communication and presentation skills
Looks to solve problems and find solutions
