LRWA Supports Local Charity

The LRWA has donated £1,500 to a Manchester-based charity that helps support autistic children and their families.

Chosen as its charity of the year, the LRWA gave a cheque to FACT (Families of Autistic Children Together) at a special presentation evening at the charities’ headquarters in Hyde, Greater Manchester.

Steve Cookson, chair of the LRWA technical committee, visited the centre and met some of the volunteers who provide help and training for families, and work with healthcare professionals to deliver support within the community.

He said: “FACT is a unique charity which was formed by the families and friends of autistic children who, with the help of professionals, aim to transform the lives of their loved ones.

“The work of the charity is something very close to our hearts at the LRWA. We hope our donation will help FACT continue to provide the fantastic services and support which enables children and young people reach their true potential and live life to the full.”

FACT is the LRWA’s chosen charity of 2016. A donation cheque of £1,500 was given to the volunteering team by the LRWA during a presentation evening at Slide and Seek in Hyde, Greater Manchester in December 2016.
