Meet Our New Technical Chair
Congratulations to Gary Baines who has been appointed by our Board as the LRWA’s new Technical Chair.
With nearly four decades of experience in the liquid roofing sector, Gary was nominated by manufacturer members, Sika Liquid Plastics. As Technical Chair, he will lead the LRWA Technical Committee meetings, attend LRWA Board meetings and develop guidance notes and codes of practice alongside the technical secretary for publication on behalf of the association.
Gary has worked for Sika Liquid Plastics since 1980 and has held both technical and sales roles in the UK and internationally, including serving as a Corporate Product Engineer.
His vast experience has seen him work with products ranging from water-based coatings for roofs through to technologically-advanced liquids, including polyurethanes.
Gary is a member of both the Local Expert Team and the Corporate Expert Team for Liquid Applied Membranes which involves developing strategy and implementation of liquid-applied membrane (LAM) systems for Sika across the world.
Gary will be attending the member’s meeting on Tuesday 12 June at Roofing House, London, where the position will be officially announced to members.
