More Funding Secured to Boost Training
We are delighted to announce that we have secured additional funding for our Basic Competency Programme (BCP).
This means we can continue to offer both manufacturers and contractors £50 for each candidate they successfully put through the course. The incentive is available from now up to and including 30th April 2019.
The BCP is a really important scheme, which provides training on topics ranging from health and safety through to roof design and project planning. Successful candidates receive a red ‘Experienced Worker’ CSCS card which is valid for three years providing them with the time they need to obtain the NVQ and qualify for a blue ‘Skilled Worker’ CSCS card.
Since we launched the initiative in 2015, in collaboration with other roofing trade associations, LRWA members have helped 1,000 people complete the BCP and upskill – a target we hit a year early.
Sarah Spink, CEO of the LRWA said: “We would like to once again thank everyone who has taken part in the BCP and helped to get this important initiative up and running.
“Securing additional funding for another year is great news for our members and will ensure that collectively, the roofing industry can keep building on the success of the programme and raising standards.
“We hope that the incentive encourages even more liquid roofing manufacturers to get involved in the BCP, so that they can reap the benefits, including enhanced skills, productivity and a competitive edge.”
To make a claim for the incentive, manufacturers must update the BCP database and email it to Chris Bussens (chris@cnbconsultants.co.uk) as soon as possible.
