NEW CHAIR AND VICE CHAIRMAN FOR TECHNICAL COMMITTEE
We would like to say thank you and pass on our best wishes and thanks to Gary Baines who is retiring as our Technical Chair. The role will be taken over in September by Mike Bradbury, Liquid Product Manager at Bauder. We are also pleased to announce that Steve Henshaw, Technical Director of Polyroof has accepted the role of Vice Chairman.
Mike was formerly Vice Chair of our Technical Committee and has more than 15 years’ experience in liquids. He has previously worked in a variety of technical roles at Sika Liquid Plastics, Centaur Technologies and Icopal.
Mike also served as Technical Chair of the LRWA between 2010 and 2013. During this time, he managed the update to the ‘Roofs, Balconies and Walkways Code of Practice’ as well as a project to gain generic eco-point ratings for liquid waterproofing in the BREEAM Green Guide to Specification.
Steve is a long standing active member of the LRWA Technical Committee and started working for Polyroof in 1995. He joined the company upon graduating from a degree in quantity surveying, going on to spearhead the development of both the internal and field technical services departments within Polyroof.
Our new Technical Chair and Vice Chair, will be working closely with the LRWA board and our members to develop several major projects and will also be helping to write guidance notes, codes of practice, and other technical best-practice documents to ensure professional consistency is maintained within the association and the marketplace.
