Technical Chair – Open for Nominations
We are opening the position of Technical Chair of the LRWA, calling anyone who may be interested to nominate themselves for the role – previous chairs are eligible for re-election if they meet criteria.
It’s important to us that all members have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of roles within the association, especially as we grow even bigger and represent a larger portion of the liquid market.
This voluntary position is open to anyone working in a technical capacity at their member company, or who has experience in the development or specification of roofing and liquid waterproofing products. Only one representative from a member can be nominated.
Individuals can either nominate themselves or be nominated by their colleagues or manager. The role of the technical chair will be to lead the LRWA Technical Committee meetings, attend LRWA Board meetings and develop guidance notes and codes of practice alongside the technical secretary for publication on behalf of the association.
To put yourself forward for the role, please email your CV and 200 words as to why you think you would be an ideal candidate to CEO, Sarah Spink sarah.spink@lrwa.org.uk. Closing date for entries is 31 March 2018.
A shortlist of finalists will then be drawn-up and members of the association will vote for the individual they’d like to see undertake the role. Voting will take place online using a Survey Monkey poll in April 2018, and the successful candidate will be announced shortly after.
The new technical chair will be in place for three years, when another vote will be cast. All entrants can re-apply after this time.
CEO, Sarah Spink, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for any individual with the passion and determination to be directly involved in helping to deliver the highest of technical standards in our association and the wider industry. Working closely with the technical secretary, the chair of the technical committee is a hugely significant role and the successful candidate will be an integral part of the team.
“On behalf of the entire association, I’d like to also thank Steve Cookson who previously worked for manufacturer member Sika Liquid Plastics and served as Technical Chair for 4 years working extremely hard in his role. We have made great strides as an association thanks to Steve’s passion and input on key industry issues during this period.”
