The Construction Products Association (CPA) has appointed Sarah Spink to its board.

Sarah is CEO of the Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association (LRWA) and joins a further seven ‘officers’ on the CPA board, representing a diverse range of manufacturers and trade associations across the construction industry.

The two-year role will see her attend regular officer meetings, providing guidance and advice to the CPA’s chief executive.

Speaking about her appointment, Sarah said: “I’m honoured to have been asked to join the CPA board at a time when the construction industry is going through transformational change. The CPA is helping to encourage collaboration across the sector, which is driving important initiatives following the Grenfell tragedy, including the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI).

“The LRWA has been a CPA member for several years, so I’m looking forward to building on this relationship, sharing my knowledge, and working with the other officers to support the CPA in its exciting work.”

CPA Chief Executive, Peter Caplehorn, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Sarah to the CPA board. Her insight and experience have already proven of huge benefit to the CPA through her role in our Marketing Integrity Group and its development of the new Code for Construction Information.

“I’m sure her expertise and wealth of knowledge will continue to serve the CPA and the construction products industry well moving forward in her new role on our board.”

With more than 15 years’ experience of the roofing industry, Sarah joined the LRWA in 2010 as chair of the marketing committee. In 2013, she was asked to join the board becoming the youngest and only female director. In 2017, she was appointed the LRWA’s first CEO and has since played a key role in growing the association, including enhancing its technical capabilities and industry collaboration.
