THE LRWA VIRTUAL DRAGON TEAM CHALLENGE RETURNS

The Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association (LRWA) has announced the return of its Virtual Dragon Team Challenge.

Taking place from 10 – 28 May 2021, the event will task teams of up to 11 people to walk, run, cycle or swim as far as they can in 30 minutes. The winners will be awarded based on the total kilometres achieved.

As well as helping to bring people together virtually during the pandemic, the challenge offers participants the chance to raise money for the LRWA’s 2021 charity.

Bonus kilometres will be available for the photo of the activity in the most original place and the team with the highest fundraising. Teams can also gain extra kilometres by sharing photos or videos of their efforts on social media.

LRWA members and non members are invited to take part to encourage the whole industry to get involved.

Sarah Spink, CEO of the LRWA said: “We launched the Virtual Dragon Team Challenge for the first time last year as an alternative to the Dragon Boat Regatta, which had to be cancelled because of the pandemic. It was a huge success helping to raise more than £3,000 for charity and involving 66 participants.

“With coronavirus restrictions still in place, we are bringing the challenge back for 2021and hope that even more people from across the roofing and waterproofing sector get involved.

“The event is free to enter and a great opportunity to get active as well as to raise the profile of our industry and much needed funds for charity.”

The winners will be announced virtually on 11 June via a video link. Medals will be awarded to all members of the team who place first, second and third.
