The Project
Project aim was to provide a waterproof wearing surface to an existing asphalt deck.
Following a CPD, TREMCO was asked to look at the car park on behalf of Scott White Hookins (SWH). The TREMCO refurbishment system was more coherent and cost-effective than alternatives offered by competitors.

The Solution
TREMCO helped SWH formulate a cost-effective and technically correct repair option that was accepted by the client. The existing asphalt waterproofing was over-coated with the TREMCO MMA Rapid Cure system which has an excellent track-record of asphalt overlays, upgrading and extending the life of the waterproofing.
TREMCO Technical Services were on hand to advise on 2 severe cracks which have been “double banded” to accommodate high levels of movement at these locations.

Advantages
For clients, this is an attractive alternative to stripping and replacing the asphalt-with all the risk of water ingress, disruption and cost that this entails.
The MMA-based product’s characteristic speed of cure was also important in facilitating this fast-track refurbishment. Even in the Summer “holiday”, the car park is busy due to conference and graduation ceremony activity.
