Sika Roofing (Commercial Roofing Team) has 2 exciting opportunities for Business Development Managers to join the team. This role is supporting Sika’s move in the market for all our BDM’s to sell the range of technical roofing solutions available within the Sika portfolio to the Commercial sector. This role offers fantastic potential to build and execute a fast growth and high innovation strategy across the Roofing Technical Ranges in Single-Ply; providing unparalleled products, support and solutions for covering the UK’s roofs.
These are field-based roles covering the North and South of England. Reporting directly to our Regional Sales Manager for Commercial Roofing. Sika Roofing offers a full roofing service, solution and offers for the new build market. Our dedicated Business Development Managers promote and sell Sika Roofing products within their designated territory to the Commercial sector. The possibility to work cross target market to grow the business will be pivotal in our future success. Our Sales team learn about specific requirements customers have and provide help and assistance to contractors using Sika products. They are fully knowledgeable in the choice and efficiency offered by the Sika Roofing concept, whilst continuing to provide ongoing project support and guidance. Sika manufacture and develop a range of quality, industrial and commercial roofing membranes that are suitable for a wide range of applications using only ingredients of the best quality. In the UK, Sika have offices in Welwyn Garden City, Preston, and Leeds that you will visit from time to time for training, meetings, and customer events.
ACTIVITIES
Promote and sell Sika Roofing products within their given geographic territory for the roof commercial sector
Achieve pre-agreed sales targets by maintain and growing customer base
Support further market penetration via new product technology and selling of current Sika technologies
Protect current market share and generate new business
Build and develop strong relationships to ensure high performance and achievement of sales targets for Roofing products by winning, growing the business and maximising customer relations
Create opportunities for Sika in the commercial market by focusing on new build clients to improve company profitability and sustain the Sika brands as a market leader utilising the Roofing offers available.
Lead or participate in a variety of activities to educate around and promote existing and new products to target audiences and maintain and develop relationships with the key decision makers within the Roofing markets
Use full functionality of salesforce.com to plan and manage relationships with customers, contractors, and colleagues
Support other areas of the business and collaborate if they identify related opportunities through their contacts and customers
Keep up-to-date with the competition and own professional and personal development
WORKING HOURS Field-based, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Role

The ideal candidate should be within commuting distance of our head office in Prees Green, Shropshire, SY13 2BN. The role requires a technically minded individual with experience within the roofing industry to be able to competently answer questions predominantly relating to flat and industrial roofing requirements.
The role will mainly involve taking enquiries from our existing and new customer base including merchants, contractors, specifiers and architects.

Additionally, sending and replying to emails, creating specifications from templates when needed.
The role will also demand an ability to take on responsibilities including materials testing / research & development, organization of required paperwork for products and any other additional works when required.
Further requirements of this role are to be at the forefront of the businesses’ technical requirements of certifications and product legislations.

Field Technician (Liquid Applied Membranes) – Midlands

Our Field Technicians impart technical and system knowledge about liquid membranes, supporting the roll-out activities of liquid membranes and assist in securing and further developing best practice for the application technology for liquid membranes. They are fully knowledgeable in the choice and efficiency offered by the Sika product range with the aim to achieve support through excellent customer service and care within liquid applied roofing sector.

ACTIVITIES
Conduct and submit site investigation reports through to line manager following an inspection with Contractor/ general field site visit.
Ensure and maintain vehicle stocks for all tools and equipment needed for site visits.
Ensure & provide regular communication, both verbally and written, with the following : National Application Field Manager, Head of Applications, Field Technicians, Applications Training Department and Administrator, Sales Force, Technical Services, SOP, Office Staff, R&D.
Establish and maintain effective communication with internal and external contacts and liaise frequently with the office to ensure that QA contractor ID cards are kept up to date.
Provide support and training for the following: QA Contractors, Trained Contractors working towards QA status, Specialist Contractors, Field Technicians, Training Team, ATM support, Internal staff, Clients, Research & Development and claims analysis.
Support roll out activities of Liquid Membranes, usually organised by the Marketing Product Management Function. Assist in promoting new business ideas, trials, product development, product trial work in conjunction with the Application function.
To comply with all policy and procedures of the company and to help grow the product range and help product development.
Keep up to date with Sika LAM Product range and application techniques and those of competitors within the Liquid Applied Roofing Membrane market place.
Provide weekly movements through the Sika data base; submit expenses and mileage on a monthly basis along with receipts in line with company policy.
Keep up-to-date with the competition and your own professional and personal development.

WORKING HOURS: Field-based, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We Need Your Skills

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who:
Has at least 5 years’ experience of practical roofing application and installation with experience of practical liquid membrane application and installation and practical experience of felt, SPM or other areas within the roofing sector
Recognises interpersonal dynamics and their effect on building and maintaining relationships
Leads by example and works with the Applications Team and all other support functions
Excellent communicator
Proficient report writer with the ability to deliver practical demonstration

The Role:

• Working closely with the National Sales Manager, the Sales Manager will be in charge of the day-to-day running of their region; liaising with clients, visiting sites, undertaking surveys and determining the specification.
• The Sales Manager will also be responsible for quoting and presenting the services and full product line of the company to potential new business clients.
• With the full support of the Technical team, the Sales Manager will conduct on-site surveys before writing the specification.
• Selling via specification with architects on new build projects and surveyors for refurbishment projects, and then tracking through to main contractors and roofing contractors for installation.
• Managing an important region for the business, the Sales Manager will be expected to drive new business in the region, as well as building on the existing relationships with the diverse customer base.

The Ideal Person:

• Currently a sales manager based in the South of England or willing to relocate.
• Must have experience working for a roofing contractor or roofing manufacturer in a sales position with experience of conducting site surveys and writing specifications for roofing projects.
• Have a passion and desire to use their roofing knowledge to progress within a commercial sales environment.
• Will be motivated, driven and ambitious to determine their own career path at KEMPER SYSTEM.
• Have strong technical knowledge to hit the ground running and carry forward the company’s new business objectives within the region.
• Be professional, presentable, articulate and well educated.
• A good technical understanding of roofing, but willing and eager to learn new products and systems.
• Self-motivated and hands-on, but able to work closely with an office and field-based support team.
• Must have the ability to journey plan effectively and be willing to travel within the territory and beyond when necessary.
• Computer literate. MS Office including Outlook, Excel and Word. Knowledge of CRM systems would be an advantage.
