Recruiting sheeting, cladding, felting and coating roofing operatives for our Bristol Branch. Candidate’s will be located around the Bristol, Wiltshire and Swindon area.

Pay rate is £10.00 – £15.00 per hour dependant on experience and this role is a full- time, permanent position.

Due to the continual growth we are looking for sheeting, cladding, felting and coating roofing operatives to join the team at the Bristol Branch. Requirements:

We are one of the UK’s leading flat roofing contractors in the Public, Commercial and Industrial sector, providing a complex range of specialist solutions for all roofing needs.

Duties:
• Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
• Pricing project works in liaison with the Project Managers.
• Negotiate contracts and work schedules
• Undertake cost analysis
• Advise on a procurement strategy
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
• Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
• Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
• Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.

Sika manufacture and develop a range of quality, industrial and commercial roofing membranes that are suitable for a wide range of applications using only ingredients of the best quality.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Respond to day-to-day technical enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders optimising Sika sales opportunities, minimising claim risk, safeguarding the customer experience and escalating where appropriate.
Review and compile roofing specifications & complete Technical calculations (wind uplift/drainage) across all product technologies
Attend prestart or project design meetings where necessary (larger / prestigious projects)
Liaise with branded product suppliers where required i.e., produce thermal calculations, Technical support and other Partners as required.
Process Application for Guarantees carry out Technical checks where applicable and update the Guarantee Database.
Support function to the Applications Department for the checking and coordinating completed site installation reports
Review sales orders against the technical specification across all Sika Roofing technologies to ensure orders match the project specification
HOURS: 40 per week Monday to Friday (08:00 – 17:00) ; Office and Homeworking

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Entry level qualification in Institute of Roofing is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
Willingness to travel
Must hold full and valid UK driving licence
Qualification in a construction related subject or previous experience of working in a construction related Technical role or similar and providing professional support to customers is desirable
Broad knowledge of construction design drawings and ability to identify new opportunities / limitations
Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar is desirable
Knowledge of site practices and safety procedures on-site
Good knowledge of UK and Eurocode building standards as well as insurance house requirements and third-party associations
Proactive approach to problem solving
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
