The roofing industry has raised more than £8K for a youth homelessness charity following the Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association’s (LRWA) 2025 Charity Challenge event.
First launched by the LRWA six years ago, the virtual challenge is a nationwide event which encourages teams to run, walk, swim or cycle the furthest distances to raise money for LandAid.
This year, the LRWA Charity Challenge saw 195 participants take part across 22 teams that walked, ran, swam and cycled to clock up the kilometres in 30-minute bursts throughout July.
From fundraising to creative selfies and scenic routes, every kilometre is counted as the event continues to grow in participation and impact. The event is free to enter and open to all fitness levels, encouraging team spirit and healthy competition.
The winners of the 2025 challenge are:
- Gold (first place): StructureCare Samurais
- Silver (second place): Sika Wolfpack
- Bronze (third place): Everlasting Endurance
Top individual winners for the most kilometres (km) achieved in 30 minutes include:
- Best Swimmer: Bryden Thomson – StructureCare Samurais
- Best Walker: Dave Youngs – Everlasting Endurance
- Best Runner: Ross Harle – StructureCare Samurais
- Best Cyclist (Indoor): Luke Rootham – Axter Allstars

Sarah Spink added:
“Each year this challenge gets bigger and better, and we’re so proud to support such a wonderful charity like LandAid. It’s heartbreaking that so many young people are homeless in the UK, especially in 2025. This is our way of giving back, helping to put a roof over their heads and offer them hope, purpose, and a future. The dedication and creativity shown by all our teams was phenomenal this year and we thank everyone who got involved and donated. You truly are all winners.”
