- Member Workshop (Hybrid): CCPI - Sector-specific Words & Phrases to Avoid Using
This workshop is the second stage in building the LRWA’s liquid roofing and waterproofing-specific ‘Words and Phrases to Avoid Using’ guide. It follows on from our member webinar with the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) on 8 October 2026, and member input will directly shape the content of the guide.
At the webinar, members raised a range of sector-specific terms, claims and phrases that the CCPI’s general guidance does not fully cover. This workshop gives members the time to work through each of them in detail, agree where the concerns lie and discuss what clearer, more accurate alternatives could look like.
The session will run as a hybrid event, so members can attend in person at Dove Technology or join online.
- Building on the Webinar
The webinar set out the principles behind the CCPI’s existing guidance and opened the discussion on where our sector needs more specific direction. The workshop moves from discussion to drafting. Working from the list of words and phrases put forward by members, attendees will review each one, consider how it is used in practice when describing, selling and specifying liquid roofing and waterproofing products, and help decide how it should be treated in the final guide.
You do not need to have attended the webinar to take part. If you were unable to join, we recommend reading the CCPI’s Words and Phrases to Avoid Using guidance beforehand. Attendees are welcome to bring further examples from their own work, including product literature, datasheets or website copy, for discussion.
- Who should attend
Open to all LRWA members, this workshop is particularly relevant if you write, edit or approve construction product information in a marketing, technical or other role. It will be especially useful for those who contributed examples at the webinar and want to see them taken forward into the guide.
