Sarah Spink, Chief Executive Officer of the LRWA
Sarah Spink is Chief Executive Officer of the LRWA, leading the Association's strategic direction since 2017.

Sarah Spink joined the liquid roofing industry in 2006, taking up a role as Product Manager for liquid applied membranes at Sika. As a result, she gained eleven years of hands-on commercial and technical experience. This gave her a solid grounding in both the practical and business sides of the trade.

She first became involved with the LRWA in 2009 and went on to chair its marketing committee. Consequently, in 2010 she led the rebrand of the European Liquid Waterproofing Association, known as ELWA, into what is now the LRWA. This marked a significant milestone in the Association’s history and helped shape its identity for the years that followed. Subsequently, Sarah Spink joined the LRWA board as a director in 2013, when she was both the youngest and the only female board member.

Sarah Spink progressed from board director to Chief Executive Officer in March 2017. The move reflected the trust that fellow board members placed in her, along with her growing influence within the sector. In this role, she sets the strategic direction for the Association as it continues to grow. In addition, she remains a strong advocate for the technical benefits of specifying liquid applied membranes across the construction industry.

Sarah Spink’s industry involvement extends well beyond the LRWA. Moreover, she serves as an Officer of the Board of the Construction Products Association (CPA). She also sits on the Roofing Advisory Panel of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Since January 2025, she has co-chaired Sector Lead Group 5, working alongside the CPA to develop competence frameworks for construction product manufacturers.

She was also a director of the Institute of Roofing, having previously served as its chairperson between 2021 and 2023. Consequently, these roles allow her to represent the sector’s interests across industry and construction forums. They also help ensure the sector’s voice carries weight at a strategic level.
